We took our first adventure by train this past Sunday, to Salisbury and Stonehenge and had a great time. We actually tried to go on Saturday but we were waiting for the connecting train at Calpham Junction we noticed a sign saying that Stonehenge would be closed until Sunday morning due to the summer solstice. Whoops! We did check the Stonehenge website before leaving but nothing was mentioned about being closed. Luckily we were able to trade our train tickets for Sunday. Playing the clueless tourist card does work sometimes!
So on Sunday we set off and spent the day traveling and exploring. Stonehenge was quite amazing and Salisbury was a gorgeous little town. We got to peek at the Cathedral which is celebrating its 750 anniversary this year. Amazing history!
