Happy St. Nicholas Day!

I'm a day late with the post, but hope you had a happy St. Nicholas Day yesterday.

In Jeremy's family his grandma, YiaYia, started a tradition of baking cookies in honor of St. Nicholas Day for her children, then grandchildren and now her great-grandchildren.

Papa delivered the homemade goodies this week

as well as an Advent Calendar and booklet of Christmas activities that YiaYia compiled. This coupled with the chocolate Advent calendar that Papa and Nami got for her and Mac is really enjoying learning all about Christmas traditions.

Hmm, which cookie to try first? The miter or the shield?

Jeremy was explaining the symbolism of the cookies and when he told Mac that the miter is a type of hat and hats go on your head she replied "no, mouth!" and promptly took a bite.
Clever girl!

Great traditions and a neat learning experience to see how things are done in a different country.

Your Thanksgiving feast looks good too! Who would have thought that graham crackers aren't universal?

Yeah to YiaYia! Gotta love traditions and so cool to be able to pass them on to this next generation.

Of course she is a clever girl. Silly daddy, cookies are always for mouths!
