Our weekends

The last couple of weekends have been pretty quiet for us. We've taken turns being sick and with the lovely rainy weather that's dominated the forecast, staying home has been a nice retreat. But our few trips outside have been fun!


Last Saturday on our way to feed the ducks we encountered the Polish Independence Day parade, basically out our front door! Mac, of course, loved watching the people march and the band play.


Mac was quite pleased with how popular she was while feeding the birds in St. James Park.


Mac loves using an umbrella and is especially interested in talking about when the umbrella is opened and when it is closed and why that is. "Wain? Open." "No, no wain. Closed?"


After feeding the birds, we continued our walk to the River Thames, in front of The Eye (or Eyes according to Mac) to catch the fireworks portion of the Lord Mayor Show. We originally thought the fireworks were a belated Guy Fawkes celebration but I guess it was just a busy couple of weeks for festivities in the city.


The fireworks were nice (or stars! according to Mac) and our camera does not do them justice but we think they have nothing on our 4th of July celebrations at Lake Brant.
